As I walk from Old Farm to my afternoon class, I pass the "Meet the Challenge" Bull. (Full with all his jingle jangles.) A thought comes to mind. Can I meet this challenge? I want to answer this now instead of later. I NEED to answer this now not later. University is a huuuuuuuuuge undertaking. So with this thought, I go to Math. But before we talk math, let's start from the beginning. So, I'm up at 7:11 am; I wallow a bit as I always do in the morning. (I'm not a morning person. I'm better than I was. Now, I can form whole sentences & not just grunt at people.) Do all my stuff; I'll leave the details to your imagination. I catch the LTD (or CVTD if you're new school; I old school.). I arrive on campus at 8:30ish. I've got an hour to kill. I walk around a bit. There's a buzz I've never noticed before. I could feel something last week as I took care of the necessities, but this was unreal. I've never been a part of something like that. I decide to head over to Old Main. That's where Sociology 1010. I'm excited to go in. It's my favorite building thus far. If you're going to Utah State. Take a second & look at it. Now, really look at it. There's some beautiful stuff there if you take a second. Soc 1010 was a lot of fun. The professor walks in in levis, dress shirt, tie, & blazer. Very professional. Now, a few more details, the shirt was untucked & the tie was loosely around his neck. Again, very professional. (Seriously, no sarcasm.) Just my style. He's kooky. I like that. It was so much fun. I even raised my hand, but was not called on. There's a lot of reading, but hey, I like to read. It's not my romance novels, but it's something. So, I've got a break from 10:20 am to 4:30 pm. I'm cool with it. I walked into every building & found my classes. It was fun to see. I'm a people watcher. So, there... That's fun for me. Math 0900 is in the Business building; again at 4:30 pm. It was fun to walk around there. That's where I'll be spending a lot of time over the next 4 years. The class was fine. Why am I in 0900? Well, I'm out of "Math Practice". Being in the work force 12 years, I don't think I used any Algebra. I may be wrong there. But it will be a discipline I will master. A light bulb went on when we started, but it's a good refresher. Rather take this & not stress out about 1010. "Knowing is half the battle!" The only problem I had was the "Get to know you exercises." I survived though. At least I didn't have to get up & state my name, where I went to HS, & what I did over the summer.
Now to answer my question, can I "Meet the Challenge"? After one day, HELL YEAH, I CAN!
sounds like as good a start as any!
